In an inspiring collaboration, the ClickToStart Foundation and the Rotaract Club of Diego Martin have launched the groundbreaking Computers for Kids (CFK) initiative. This visionary project is dedicated to empowering students across Trinidad and Tobago by providing them with refurbished desktop computers, laptops, and tablets. This initiative specifically targets primary, secondary, and tertiary level students who are facing challenges in accessing online education, thereby bridging the digital divide in all 8 educational districts of the country.
The CFK project has been remarkable in its reach and impact, distributing essential learning tools to a diverse range of educational institutions. These include the Bamboo Grove Presbyterian ECCE Centre, Success Laventille Composite Secondary, Woodbrook Government Secondary, Belmont Boys’ RC Primary, and the prestigious UWI, St. Augustine. Additionally, Charlieville A.S.J.A Primary, Valencia Government Primary, El Dorado Secondary, Queen’s Royal College, and Corpus Christi Secondary have been beneficiaries of this noble effort.
Further extending its reach, the project has positively impacted Barrackpore West Secondary School, Mason Hall Government Primary, Cunupia Secondary School, Macaulay Government Primary School, Guaico Secondary School, and Anstey Memorial Girls’ A.C. Primary School. The El Socorro Hindu Primary School, Manzanilla Secondary School, Nelson Street Girls’ R.C Primary School, and Point Fortin A.C. Primary School have also been included in this widespread initiative.
This collaboration between the ClickToStart Foundation and the Rotaract Club of Diego Martin is a testament to the power of community and technology in shaping the future of education. By equipping students with the necessary tools for online learning, they are not only enhancing educational opportunities but are also investing in the potential of the nation’s youth. Their dedication and effort in making technology accessible to all is truly commendable, setting a benchmark for similar initiatives worldwide.
